Over this academic year I have been considering how to improve the experience your children have in the choir. Lunchtime rehearsals have quite severe limitations – we are often unable to start until 12.15 as we are waiting for our rehearsal space to become available and for all the different classes to finish their mornings work. We then have to finish promptly at 12.30 to allow the children to get to lunch. This 15 minute slot is really too short for warming up properly, learning songs and getting them up to performance standard let alone singing some bits for fun!
The children at Bliss are talented and I try to stretch them with the songs I choose but this is very difficult in this time. The choir were due to perform in Northampton Festival next week but I have had to withdraw them because they were not ready.
The best solution to this problem is, I feel, to move the choir to before school starting at 8.15 in the mobile classroom. I hope that all the children will still be able to come and enjoy some quality singing time where they are not distracted by being hungry for lunch or their friends playing outside! It is important that they arrive, whenever possible, to start at 8.15. This will give us a good 40 minute session.
Thank you for your support,
- Thursday 26th Feb- first tag rugby club – 3.15 – 4.15 pm
- Wednesday 4th March- no sports club (due to a netball tournament)

- 11 and 12th March- both days no clubs as I am in Kingswood with the year 6’s.
- Wednesday 18th March- no sports club (due to a cross country event)

Netball is cancelled tonight due to the weather forecast and the stage being up in the hall. Please collect your child at 3.15 as normal. Mrs Byrne
As Ben is away with the Year 6’s at Kingswood, there will be no after school sports club on Wednesday and no football club on Thursday.
Please collect your child as normal at 3.15 pm.
Unfortunately there will be no football club this week as Ben has a Cluster meeting.
See you after half term.
Class 3 teacher
I will be running an after school netball club with Miss Lewis, the student teacher in Class 3, on Tuesdays for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. The session will run from 3.15-4.15pm. Beginners are welcome and the club is open to both girls and boys.
The club will start next Tuesday 28th January and run for six weeks until Tuesday 4th March. Children must wear suitable outdoor PE kit and trainers.
If your child is able to participate, please complete the reply slip below and state whether your child will be collected or walking home by themselves.
Class 3 Teacher
Dear Parents/ Carers,
